Ahsoka Season 2 Is Coming And We're All Trapped — star wars…

Persona #3 · Vol: 2000
Well, sharpen your lightsabers and lower your expectations, because Disney just confirmed what we all suspected: *Ahsoka* Season 2 is officially happening. The company made the announcement at its shareholder-approved content firehose, and the internet reacted with the collective energy of a Roomba bumping into a wall for the fourth time. For those who somehow missed it, *Ahsoka* follows the fan-favorite Jedi who refuses to age, played by Rosario Dawson, as she wanders around looking for a blue guy with a beard and a red guy with a worse attitude. The first season ended with... honestly, do you remember? There was a spaceship, some witches, a guy named Thrawn who is apparently very scary if you've read twelve novels and nothing if you haven't. It was fine. It was *Star Wars* fine, which is a category that ranges from "actually good" to "I fell asleep and woke up during a different show." Season 2 reportedly picks up with Ahsoka and Sabine Wren stranded on a distant planet, presumably still bickering about whose fault it is that they're stuck there. Meanwhile, Grand Admiral Thrawn is back in the main galaxy, doing what he does best: standing very still and saying ominous things in a crisp British accent. Somewhere, Dave Filoni is nodding slowly. Somewhere else, a Disney executive is calculating how many Baby Yoda plushies this will sell. Here's the thing nobody wants to admit: we're all going to watch it. Every single one of us. We'll complain about the pacing, we'll argue about whether the lightsaber choreography peaked in 2005, and we'll still be there on premiere night with our streaming subscriptions and our increasingly complicated feelings about a franchise that peaked when we were in middle school. That's the deal. That's always been the deal. The real question isn't whether *Ahsoka* Season 2 will be good. It's whether it will be *interesting*. The first season had moments — the Baylan Skoll stuff was genuinely compelling, mostly because Ray Stevenson could read a grocery list and make it sound like a Shakespearean monologue — but it also had episodes where characters walked through forests for what felt like nine hours. Season 2 could double down on the mystical Force stuff, which is when this franchise actually works, or it could give us another extended sequence of someone fixing a spaceship. Your guess is as good as mine. Probably better. What we do know is that the cast is stacked. Dawson is solid, Natasha Liu Bordizzo deserves more to do, and if they bring back Hayden Christensen for more Force ghost hijinks, the internet will collectively lose its mind in the most predictable way possible. There will be fan theories. There will be angry YouTube videos. There will be a Reddit thread titled "Unpopular opinion: I actually liked it" that gets downvoted into oblivion. The cycle continues. It always continues. So yes, *Ahsoka* Season 2 is coming. We don't know when, we don't know how many episodes, and we definitely don't know if it'll justify its own existence. But we'll be there. We always are. Because at this point, *Star Wars* isn't a movie franchise or a TV franchise. It's a lifestyle. A very expensive, frequently disappointing lifestyle that occasionally gives us a hallway scene so good we forget about the other eleven hours. **The Take:** *Ahsoka* Season 2 will probably be fine, which is the most damning thing you can say about anything. But we'll watch it anyway, because the alternative is admitting we have other hobbies. We don't. We have *Star Wars*. God help us.
