Star Trek Fan Just Did the Unthinkable at Comic-Con
Persona #2 · Vol: 2000
You guys. I need to sit down. Actually I'm already sitting. I'm writing this from the floor of my apartment because my legs stopped working after what I just witnessed at San Diego Comic-Con. 💀
So boom. It's Saturday afternoon. The Star Trek panel. Hall H is absolutely PACKED. People waited overnight. Dressed as Vulcans. Klingons. One guy fully committed as a tribble. Respect.
And then this dude walks up to the mic during the Q&A. Normal guy. Graphic tee. Sweaty. Vibes immaculate.
He doesn't ask about season 3. He doesn't ask about Spock's love life. He looks the entire cast dead in the eyes and goes:
"On behalf of the fans, we need a Star Trek musical episode. Not a joke. I have a PowerPoint."
A POWERPOINT.
The crowd went FERAL. Like deafening. People were screaming "LET HIM COOK" so loud the panel moderator literally took off her headset.
The best part? The cast was DYING. The captain actor was crying laughing. Someone else yelled "green light it" into the mic unprompted. The showrunner just sat there with the biggest grin doing the "we'll see" face.
Sir, you are a legend. You walked into Hall H with a dream and a laptop and you bodied an entire franchise's executives in under 90 seconds.
And honestly? He's right. Star Trek has been around since 1966. Sixty years of lore. Time travel. Mirror universes. Q causing chaos for sport. And they've never once done a full musical episode? That's actually insane when you think about it.
Other shows have done it and ATE. Buffy. Scrubs. That one Grey's episode everyone pretends they didn't cry to. Musicals are a cheat code. You get the drama, you get the comedy, and you get a cast that's secretly been waiting to show off their theater kid energy this whole time.
Can you imagine? A Klingon opera number that's actually a banger? A heartfelt ballad about the Prime Directive? Spock doing a deadpan rap verse about logic? I would stream that until my phone overheats. My Spotify Wrapped would be ruined and I'd THANK them.
The clip hit X and TikTok within the hour. It's already got millions of views. People are making fan edits. Someone remixed his "I have a PowerPoint" line over a beat and it's genuinely going hard. The man is a meme now. He's our meme. We claim him.
And here's the thing. This is how it always starts. Fans ask. Studios ignore. Fans ask louder. Someone makes a petition. The petition hits 100k. A writer sees it. A writer pitches it. Two years later we're all sobbing to a ballad sung by a Vulcan and pretending we weren't part of the chaos.
The PowerPoint guy knew. He saw the timeline before we did. True visionary behavior.
So yeah. If Paramount is listening (they're not, but hypothetically), the people have spoken. We want the musical. We need the musical. The demand is loud, it's organized, and it comes with visual aids.
Anyway I'm gonna go rewatch the clip for the 47th time and manifest this into existence. Beam me up, I'm done.
**Hot take:** Fans are always right and studios are always late. One sweaty guy with a PowerPoint just did more for Star Trek's future than a decade of focus groups. Give the people the musical, cowards. 🖖🎤
